Facilitation can be instrumental to a key group's effectiveness

I've come to believe that facilitation may be even more helpful, even critical, for these key groups than with other groups when the focus is the whole organization as in quarterly planning meetings.

The stakes are much higher, participants often come from very different perspectives and it is difficult, to say the least, for participants to keep in mind the well being of the larger whole while advocating for areas for which they have responsibility. Strict accountability may actually discourage teamwork on behalf of the whole organization.
